EZ Child ID Program 2.7.6

Version 2.7.6 includes one bug fix and three improvements:

• Internal Pan/Tilt of camera is properly centered now.
• Initial photo capture attempts to use higher resolution with greater initial zoom to increase the amount of tilt available.
• Added compression option to download to shrink the size of the Canadian Postal Code database from 80MB to 2MB!!!
• Added progress bar during program startup to show status when loading postal code lists for larger regions (i.e. Ontario, 250,000 Postal Codes, takes perhaps 20 seconds)
• Entering a Postal Code or Zip Code still brings up the city and state or province almost instantly.

Version 2.7.5 includes several minor improvements and bug fixes:

• Fixed reset of some data entry boxes on new kits (affected NYChip Data Entry only)
• Added support for statistics by region along with support for a preset Region List. See the RegionList.txt paragraph below for more details.
• Complete rewrite of still capture to allow for internal pan/tilt/zoom.
  Still supports option to approve image capture, but crop rectangle replace by simpler pan,tilt,zoom controls to be used prior to taking the picture.

The statistics module now supports the option of entering a region on program startup to track statistics by region. The last region used is remember for next time to make it more convenient and less prone to errors. The program also supports the option of having a preset list of regions to select from. These regions are stored in a file called RegionList.txt, and the file must be in the same folder as the ChildID.exe file. Each region or location is put on a seperate line in the file, and comments starting with #, !, or / are ignored. Version 2.7.2 includes three minor improvements:

• Supports Metric and English Measurement modes with a checkbox in the Settings page.
• Supports Canadian Postal Codes as well as U.S. Zip Codes and recognizes the province (but not the city) based on the Postal Code.
• Auto-saves the statistics after each kit to preserve the day's statistics in case of application freeze or reboot.

Version 2.7.1 includes several significant changes:

• Smarter Field Resets for new ID Kits.
• Smarter Camera and Microphone Finder compatible with latest version of Logitech Quickcam Orbit and Orbit MP.
• Custom Video and Audio Capture Source option for using other camera hardware or for handling future camera driver name changes.
• DirectShow FilterGraph Browsing Tool for debugging video and audio capture problems.
• Includes a data file on the burned CD with all the text values from the Data Entry form.
• Includes Import Data button for reading data off of a CD. If you attempt to import data from an older kit (no data file), it will only import the fingerprints, photos, and video clips.
• New licensing module to be compatible with the Online Solutions online licensing system.

Version 2.6.1 is a minor feature release with several improvements. We have refined the data entry process to make the text boxes smarter. For instance, when entering gender, if the user enters Boy or B or M or Man, it will swap that value with Male. The same logic has been applied to the other pick list boxes. We have also added a 2nd print-out option for sites wanting 2 ID cards on a single printout. We added a confirmation box that prevents users from flushing the data if they did not print or burn anything. We also added a statistics module to the software to record how many kits are made by day and the average kit entry time for the current day.

Improvements in 2.5.0: We have added a "New Sibling" button that flushes all the information except for last name, address, phone numbers, and parent information. The CD burner tool has also been improved with better error handling, smarter timing estimates, and the flexibility to modify a burn job before burning.

Improvements in 2.4.4: The report preview and fingerprint screens now support scrolling with the mouse wheel. There is a new setting for determining the fingerprint order for display and on reports. And you can now right-click on a fingerprint to clear an individual scan. This release and all future releases includes our CD burner tool for easier and faster CD burning. You can burn a CD of one session while doing data entry, fingerprints, photos, and the movie of the next session. The CD will eject automatically and the CD burning tool will exit if there are no errors. If this program gets any faster, you will get a speeding ticket for using it.

28 mb download includes installer, grFinger, and zip codes for the entire United States.

This is our main installer for the Child ID program. You will be asked to select one or more states for zip code data when you first run the program. You can also change the available state list at any time in the settings page. You also have the option of setting the data entry style in the Settings box as well as other settings including the Settings password. The initial password is blank unless set in a prior version.

If you have already installed grFinger, and just want to update your installation with the latest version of the Child ID program, you can download this smaller update which does not include the grFinger library. The 9 mb download includes the installer.
