You can specify background files for the scratch pad, Bible display, songs, and media files. The backgrounds must be Jpegs or bitmap files, and they are stretched to fit your projector window. If you have any quality problems with the stretching, or if you want to display a photo as a background, you must provide a background file with the dimensions of your projector window. This is usually 1024x768 or 800x600 pixels. We recommend Jpeg backgrounds with at least 800x600 pixels saved at 90% quality.

You can specify the usable area of a background in the filename. You will find a tool to make this easier on the Backgrounds Page under Setup. Use the mouse to move and size the dotted box and then click to Save Changes. Go to the next page if you want to better understand the filename codes used.

Background Filename Codes

Each code starts with an underscore, then the code, then the value for the code. You can use more than one code in a filename.

_uwXX Usable width as a percentage (_uw80 = Use 80% of the width)
_uhXX Usable height as a percentage (_uh80 = Use 80% of the height)
_upXX Usable width, height (_up90 = Use 90% of the width and height)
_tpXX Top margin as a percent (_tp10 = Leave top 10% as margin)
_btXX Percent bottom margin (_bp10 = Leave bottom 10% as margin)
_lfXX Percent left margin (_lf15 = Leave left 15% as margin)
_rtXX Percent right margin (_rt15 = Leave right 15% as margin)
