WinPing: a network diagnostic tool that brilliantly updates the old command line standard. WinPing remembers domains and supports descriptions to identify cryptic domains and IP addresses. The output window shows the current session’s activity, and a chart even shows comparative ping times for recent pings.



The program can also ping the Online Solutions Internet Server to retrieve the public IP address of a given computer, and it supports a basic Wake-on-LAN packet for a given MAC address.

The program also displays the network connection status in the upper-right corner, which we find especially useful for connecting to wireless networks.
